It is, but Quattroporte sounds better than ‘four-door’ - which is the literal translation - and when the whole thing is said in an Italian accent then there are few more evocative names on the market. Add Sport GT S to that and you’re now looking at the most focused Quattroporte yet. The Quattroporte Sport GT S (and no, I’m not paid by the word) builds on the Sport GT package but takes this saloon one sporting step further.
ELECTRIC car maker Tesla has announced a free parking and airport shuttle service for its customers, based at its new dealership near Heathrow. Model S owners will be able to book the service with the West Drayton Tesla centre, before simply turning up, having their car parked in a secure location and then being taken off to the airport with their luggage – in another Model S. Tesla representatives will also ferry the customers back from the airport terminal to their own car.
Volkswagen are heading to the Shanghai Motor Show with a new SUV concept as car makers strive to satisfy car buyer’s lust for rugged cars to prowl the urban landscape. But the VW CrossBlue Concept doesn’t seem to be a car that fits in to the fad for compact SUVs, rather it’s a full-size SUV that appears to be a coupe version of the VW CrossBlue Concept we saw earlier this year in Detroit. So far we only have a sketch of the CrossBlue Coupe, and you can be pretty sure it won’t be quite as ‘Coupe’ as the sketches indicate when it does turn up in Shanghai this weekend; think more Audi Q7 than Mercedes GLA.
